About This Event

Today, to mark World Refugee Day, the Library welcomes author Nadia Umadat!

Nadia is a Canadian social woker of Indo-Guyanese heritage, born in Toronto.  She has a Master's Degree in Social Work and a Graduate Diploma in Refugee and Migration Studies.

The book she will be sharing today, her first children's picture book, is titled The Most Beautiful Thing I Have Ever Seen and was inspired by her work with Syrian children during their initial stages of Canadian relocation.

The Most Beautiful Thing I Have Ever Seen was selected by the CBC as one of "40 Canadian kids' books to read in spring 2023."
