About This Event

Join the Brain Injury Association of York Region for The ABCs of Brain Injury, a beginner-friendly seminar that builds awareness of this often invisible condition, explains the basics of how brain injuries occur and who they affect, and explores care and treatment options that support recovery.

Learn about different types of brain injury, including concussion, stroke, and acquired injuries, how they affect thinking, mood, movement, and communication, and how impacts can differ for children and adults. This session also highlights current approaches to treatment and support.

This session includes a hands-on Brain Mapping exercise that explores different regions of the brain and how the location of an injury can shape a person’s experiences, offering deeper insight into what survivors navigate daily.
