Grade 6 and 7 Math Competition with Count Her In

Count Her In York Region is excited to collaborate with Markham Public Library to host an empowering math competition tailored specifically for female-identifying youth in grades 6 and 7. This event is designed to ignite a passion for mathematics among young girls and encourage them to explore the exciting world of STEM.

The math competition, carefully curated to match their grade level, will challenge participants over the course of one hour. Following the competition, we are thrilled to present a panel discussion featuring accomplished female high school students excelling in STEM. These inspiring young women will share their personal journeys, discuss how they discovered their passion for STEM, and offer valuable insights into seizing opportunities in high school to thrive in these fields.

To help participants prepare for the competition, we will also be hosting a preparatory workshop. During this session, instructors will guide students through practice contest questions, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for the main event.
