Police Issue Warning Regarding Vehicle Thefts in Newmarket

York Regional Police have issued a reminder to residents regarding precautions for leaving valuables in unattended vehicles. This follows a re-emergence of overnight thefts.

Recent incidents have involved suspects observed overnight in Newmarket neighbourhoods. These areas are located between Bathurst Street and Leslie Street, and Mulock Drive and Green Lane. Suspects have approached vehicles parked on streets and in driveways, entering unlocked vehicles, and stealing valuables. Items commonly targeted include cash, wallets, credit and bank cards, and other small items of value.

Police state that this type of theft occurs across York Region.
