York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit is appealing for witnesses following a fatal pedestrian collision in Richmond Hill. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Spadina Road.

A 32-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. A passerby provided aid before the woman was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The vehicle's driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking for witnesses who have not yet spoken with them and anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision to come forward.
