About This Event
Have an old pair of jeans sitting in your closet? Before throwing them away, join our Jeans Upcycling Workshop and learn how to transform them into your very own customized bag! This beginner-friendly workshop, facilitated by Thread Together, will guide participants through basic hand-sewing skills, from learning their very first stitch to creating a finished piece they can wear and personalize.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own jeans (thrifted jeans work great too!), helping promote sustainable fashion and reduce textile waste.
A very limited number of spare jeans may be available for participants who are unable to bring their own, but bringing your own pair is highly recommended.
This workshop is completely free, and all additional materials will be provided. We can’t wait to create with you!
Registration Instructions:
There will be a very limited number of sewing machines available for use in this workshop - those who register here, will be reserving one of the library's sewing machines for the workshop.
However, if you have your own sewing machine at home and would like to participate in the work shop, you can bring it in and register for this workshop offline by emailing the program coordinator at: [email protected].
Recommended ages: 10+ (preteens, teens, and young adults)
