Three Charged, Drugs Seized in Markham Clandestine Lab Investigation
York Regional Police have charged three individuals and seized approximately $639,000 in controlled substances following an investigation into a clandestine lab in Markham.
Investigators with the York Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit (GGDEU) have charged two men and one woman in connection with a clandestine lab in Markham. Approximately $639,000 worth of controlled substances were seized.
On October 23, 2026, officers responded to a check welfare call at a residence in the area of Jeremy Drive and Fred Varley Drive. At the scene, officers found evidence suggesting the production and distribution of controlled substances in a lab environment.
The clandestine lab was safely dismantled with assistance from The Office of the Fire Marshal, Markham Fire and Emergency Services, and York Region Paramedic Services. During the dismantling, investigators seized 12,962 packages of cannabis edibles, 209 grams of THC vaping cartridges, 26 kilograms of loose cannabis edibles, eight kilograms of dried cannabis, and 18 kilograms of psilocybin powder. Ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, and approximately $100,000 in cash were also seized.
Investigators determined that drugs produced at the residence were primarily distributed online under the name ‘Buddha Boys’ through illegitimate websites that mailed or delivered orders.
