Chess for Children (intermediate)

Does your child have some experience playing chess and would like to learn more strategies to improve their game? Children ages 7-11 years are invited to join us at the sessions listed below. 

The structure of the program is as follows: 

• 15- 20 minutes of instruction time (topics of focus: tactics, how to play chess, positional concepts, game analysis) 
  
• remainder of the program will be the application for the skills (e.g., playing chess with other participants) 

Please sign up for each session your child is interested in attending the program (each class will provide new strategies/tips). Please note all classes will take place during the last Saturday of each month except in December due to the holidays.

** Please note: This program is run by a dedicated high school student who is knowledgeable about chess with a national rating of 1823 and an online rating of 2209.
