Session times

Times live in the City of Markham drop-in calendar, linked under Sources on this page. Search it for public skating at the arena nearest to you, and read the day you plan to go.

Admission from September 1, 2026

Children aged 3 and under skate free. Ages 4 to 15 pay $3.10, ages 16 to 64 pay $5.17, and people aged 65 and older pay $3.63. HST is added to each price.

A one-month Recreation Pass costs $32.39 for a child or older adult and $49.82 for an adult, plus HST.

Helmets and young children

The City recommends a CSA-approved hockey helmet at recreational, parent and tot, and adult 55+ skates. Someone aged 16 or older must go on the ice with any child aged 7 or under. Figure skating, shinny and stick and puck have stricter equipment rules, so read the City page before you go to those sessions.

Outdoor rinks

On November 1, 2026, the City showed every outdoor rink as closed. The Markham Civic Centre rink has free admission, and the City says to expect it back in December 2026. The City also lists park rinks at Victoria Square Park, Markham Museum, Milne Dam, Milliken Mills Park and Huntington Park.

Park rink hours split between pick-up hockey and recreational skating. The City page shows two different sets of hours, so check it for the rink you want.
